Confirmation

Confirmation

Confirmation in the Lutheran Church is a public profession of faith prepared for by careful instruction. It is called "affirmation of baptism", and is a mature and public reaffirmation of one's faith.

We celebrate both adult and junior confirmation.  Adult confirmation happens before new members are welcomed into our Church family.

Junior confirmation lasts for about two years.  Following the offering of early communion, junior confirmands begin instruction on the chief parts of Christian faith and an overview of the Bible in their 7th and 8th grade years.  Following summer activities, confirmands are welcomed as adults in faith in the fall of their 9th grade year.  Following confirmation, youth are invited into senior high youth activities.
