Worship Ministries

Board Of Elders

The elders at Bethlehem are responsible for the spiritual welfare of congregational members. They pray regularly for the Pastor, our leaders and members. They also encourage and help the Pastor in his work, assisting in cultivating a constant spirit of harmony among congregation. Elders are concerned with member’s attendance and use of the Sacraments; and may be called upon for concerns of a family in their care. Additionally, they are responsible for encouraging the Christian education of children, youth and adults.

Greeters

Visitors are enthusiastically welcomed with a warm and friendly smile by greeters at Bethlehem. Visitors with special needs are assisted into the building and directed to a worship host.

Scripture Readers

The scripture readers enjoy using their speaking gift to effectively deliver God’s Word to His people.

Audio/Video

Behind the scenes the audio and visual volunteers work hard to make our service a technically transparent experience.

Worship Host

An important role ensuring that people are greeted and feel welcome. Worship Hosts also distribute bulletins, record attendance, usher during communion and pass the offering plates.

Acolyte

The acolyte is responsible for lighting and extinguishing the altar candles. Bethlehem confirmation students rotate for acolyte duties.

Altar Guild

Worship services require special attention in preparing the church and altar for each service with special attention to the Lord’s Table.

Coffee Hour

Welcome Center

We encourage visitors to pick up a gift at the welcome desk. This is where name tags are located for the members and frequent visitors. Information and signup sheets for events and activities are also available at the welcome desk.

Nursery

Care for infants and toddlers in the nursery during Sunday services and education hour.

Kids Church

Leaders of Kids Church offer children an opportunity to participate in worship ministry at a level fitting their age. It is held in the fellowship hall with Adult Leadership.
